The Aesthetic Experence

It started with a clear cup of water. Dye was added to it and slowly took its time to fill the entire cup. It moved like blood does in your body. But as more dye is poured into the cup you see how one color tries to take over. If you look at it you can probably see that the colors are trying to escape. Having each color together trying to move out of one side at a time. You also see how it starts off light and gets dark. And in the middle you see the red and blue clash to make purple. Even at the top you can still see the dye trying to spread throughout the cup.

Hybrid

An exercise borrowed from “I’ve Got a Human in My Throat” by Chris Johnson.
In preparation for our PERSONAL METAPHOR project we brushed up our skills combining objects together. Using layer masks and the clone stamp we blended this dog and bird together.

Movie Moment

Inspired by Cindy Sherman, a contemporary photographer who took photos of herself starring in movies that never existed.
Movie Title: Think Genre: Drama
Movie Summary: The story begins in a school with these two senior students, Monica and Alicia. As best friends they enjoy only one thing that was dancing. They use to do everything together and like I said especially dancing. The life for them was going perfect because as seniors they were all ready looking into their future. They graduate and decided to go together and make what they both love more go more professional; that was dancing. But the only thing that went wrong about all this was the money. Monica noticed that dancing could get a lot of money. And because of this she got out of the routine of dancing for love and started a whole new one. Alicia and Monica fought a lot for this. Alicia continue dancing but for love. And in those days she even saw how Monica was getting so low in all her career. Alicia became really professional in the dancing career and the best part was that she loved what she had accomplished. Monica got even madder at her because she lost all those wonderful years just for money. When Monica saw all that success of Alicia she wanted to go back to her regular times but she couldn’t. She couldn’t because she made a lot of mistake with people around the industry. At the end they both get back together. They get back together because they both remember that wonderful life as students in normal schools. Alicia helped Monica to get all her career in line. And at the end they both become professional dancers in the entire union.
Scene Explanation: my character is meeting with her choreographer talking about letting her best friend join her when she dances.

Chocolate Frog

For Valentines Day we turned frogs into chocolate. I thought this project was sort of fun. I learned how to use the smudge tool the correct way and how to turn things chocolate.

Shadows and Reflections

In these exercises we learned how to create shadows and reflections to help us make more realistic artwork. A new tool we learned was layer mask. The things we learned here can help me in the future by giving my picture the perfect shadow it might need or even a beautiful reflection off of something.

Aged Photo

In this project we used one of our frame photographs to practice using Photoshop to create specific effects.

Balance with Frames

In this project we were given a frame. We had to use it in our composition. We also had to be in our photo, but not in the center. It was to be in black and white, and we needed to create a sense of visual balance. I created balance by standing near a small tree but far enough to make it look like were the same height. With us looking the same height and things in the background on both sides we look balanced.

Random Object

We were each assigned a random object to photograph. We could choose to have it in color or black & white. We were to focus on "The Three C's" According to my peers, one thing I did well was the creativity or the photo. One thing they suggested I work on was having the object into the photo more. I agree with what they said because I was thinking the same thing and it looks like the word "THINK" is the main focus.

Egg Challenge

In this project each student was given an egg to photograph. We were to take a photo in both color and black-and-white. We were supposed to exemplify one or more of the following: Creativity, Craftsmanship, or Composition. I believe my black-and-white was most successful because of the dark darks and bright whites. Also because of the way the smooth texture of the egg is complete opposite of the rough texture of the rock. The reason I didn't really like the color picture is because it's sort of similar to the black-and-white.

My Favorite Photo From Last Semester

The title was 'social issue' which was just finding something people can relate to. This was just a project of problems a lot of people deal with. I liked this because it was a way to show people how I feel without actually showing them. I like the way it makes people think about what the issue is exactly.
