SHUTTER SPEED

Two things that shutter speed effects are light and motion. Shutter speed is represented by 1/2 a second and seconds. The modes on my camera that allows for shutter speed is manual and shutter. The difference between the two is while in manual mode you must choose all the settings and it has a 15 second shutter. In shutter mode you have to choose the Shutter Speed and ISO and the aperture changes itself with a 4 second shutter. You would want to control the shutter speed so you can determine the light in the photo. And you would want to control it in a very dark or bright background.

ISO

In the flash photo (the first one) you have a normal outcome. It’s not too bright and not to light, it looks like any other picture you would take. In the ISO 50, (the second one) the subject is really dark but you kind of see the background lights pretty good. So it would be best used if you are taking pictures of some kind of background that has lights. And in the ISO 5000, (the third day) the background and subject is extremely bright and pixilated. You would use this one if it was extremely dark and you were going to be able to still have a nice picture, so that it won't be really bright.

Light Meter

In these pictures we were to meter our computer and partner. When we metered our computer everything but that was suppose to get darker. When we metered our partner the light in the picture got brighter and we were still able to see our partner. You can see the result in my second picture when I metered the computer and sort of in my first when I metered my partner. It's important to meter because the light can ruin your picture if it’s not the exact light you wanted.

PERSONAL METAPHOR

My metaphor is “The remote you use to change your mind”. I chose this because it describes me a lot. I was trying to express the fact that no matter what you might think about me or anything I will be able to change the way you think about it. I wanted to capture me being confused or not sure as to why I am that way.

I placed things were I did because I wasn’t complete sure where they belonged. Also because it didn’t make the photo have empty spaces. I don’t really have a strong focal view because the photo and words are balancing each other out on the page. So either you’re going to look at the picture first or metaphor. In some cases it does feel unified, at least the remote and carpet does. The words don’t really feel like they fit but they work.

I think the combining of the remote into my clothes are done pretty well. The most difficult part other than finding a place for the words was trying to make the picture actually look real. I could’ve made myself and the remote blend even better than it is now. I would change how the entire photo is setup and how it’s kind of noticeable that it’s not a real photo.
